  • Overview


    This position will provide Client support for all Project delivery from small one or two days Projects through to entire systems migrations and Client on boarding exercises.


    In addition to staying abreast of industry trends and best practices, you will provide reassurance to Clients during Project delivery with a clear understanding and awareness of the technical implementations and changes being carried out by the delivery teams.


    Our ideal candidate will be a leader of technical Project Manager who can thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining a professional and composed demeanor. He/She will utilise their exceptional active listening, critical thinking, time organisation and communication skills to ensure delivery is on time, on budget and delivered to a high standard - while promoting RFA’s brand as a Client-centric, full-service technology provider.


    You will need to be an experienced IT Programme Manager, with ideally experience of the IT Managed Services industry or Financial Services industry, with a career history of dealing with C-Level executives, stakeholders and managers. 


    This role will require a core infrastructure experience and your background will be able to demonstrate this experience - Your experience will include managing IT and business teams, with budget management experience, as well as managing senior stakeholders and third parties. 




    • Direct Project Management of allocated Projects.
    • Ownership of Project Delivery utilising Services resource.
    • Produce and/or accept Statement of Works as suitable for Project Delivery.
    • Ensure successful handover from Project Delivery to Support.
    • Manage product availability in order to manage Client expectation and ensure overall Client satisfaction.
    • Manage the IT Project Portfolio and the project management team responsible for performance monitoring and reporting.
    • Leadership and delivery of all IT programmes ensuring successful client and internal business change through the implementation of technology solutions across the full range services.
    • Responsible for the development, programme management and performance management of the internal and client IT projects portfolio.
    • Leadership of the /a team of Project Managers in the successful delivery of the portfolio of IT Projects.
    • Evaluate, plan and deliver IT Infrastructure changes.
    • Lead, direct and assure the practical implementation of Infrastructure changes.
    • Identify lead and manage Proof of Concept activities.
    • Assure all project deliverables across the programme.
    • Set Project hourly / time budgets.
    • Manage Project issues, stage boundaries and changes.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Job Summary:

    • Expert in Project Management and Project delivery within IT environments.
    • Extensive experience in running concurrent multiple Projects, including performing as a Technical Project Manager.
    • Extensive experience of producing and maintaining all Project related documents including (but not limited to) Highlight reports, Risk Logs and Lessons learned.
      • Create and maintain high quality documentation for both Client and internal systems on a multitude of levels from pre-sales additions through to Project documentation.
    • Close liaison with Sales and Logistics teams regarding procurement for each Project.
    • Demonstrable experience in successful Project Delivery, preferably within a reseller or Managed Service environment.
    • Excellent knowledge of Desktop and Server infrastructure and an understanding of the challenges in its delivery.
    • Firm grasp of risk management/mitigation and its control in order to successfully deliver Projects on time and to (or under) budget.
    • Work closely with other teams to provide accurate, timely cost and budget information for all Projects.
    • Help to shape and then deliver RFA’s Project Management methodology utilising Best Practice.
    • Actively participate in the operation of change management within the Project environment and consider impacts (at all times) in the delivery of said changes to the Project scope, systems and service.


    Required Skills:

    • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant role.
    • Financial Service experience preferred.
    • Current Project Management accreditation e.g. Prince2/Agile.
    • Extensive and broad knowledge of defining programmes of IT change work.
    • Experience of communicating and presenting to Executive Committees and Board Level along with key skills in relationship building.
    • Proven experience of creating project plans.
    • Significant experience in the review and improvement of Supplier relationships, contracts and performance.
    • Strong Customer orientation and focus.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Experience of interpreting business requirements and considering the impact on IT services.
    • Demonstrable experience of producing / completing Projects and documentation often in very aggressive timescales.
    • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
    • Strong ethos of process adherence and the ability to instill in others.
    • Advanced Logical approach to delivery and Problem Solving skills.
    • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written, ability to communicate with Clients at all levels in a professional manner, able to explain complex Project requirements in a clear and concise manner.
    • Strong personality with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels within and external to RFA.
    • Broad knowledge of IT and how it is successfully deployed in a business environment.
    • Able to use logic/reason to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions and apply most effective resolution methodology.
    • Excellent active listening, and written and verbal communication skills.
    • Able to demonstrate a sense of urgency while acting in a professional, calm manner ensuring excellent Client support.
    • Able to stay abreast of changes and updates in relevant technologies.
    • Understanding of core networking technologies inc.TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, VLAN, switch management, down to fibre, copper and general cabling.
    • Understanding of virtualisation technologies incVMware, HyperV, Xen, ESX, replication, SANs.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft systems (E.g. AD, Exchange, Group Policy, SharePoint, SQL).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
