  • Overview

    The Design Engineer will support global deal flow by ensuring proposals are timely, best meet client requirements, and reflect our high standard of quality. This person will serve as a liaison between account management, sales, marketing, sales engineering, and technical subject matter experts (SMEs). The ideal candidate will have a broad IT Infrastructure, Security, Compliance or Managed Services background with strong analytical and writing skills. This person must be able to identify and eliminate ambiguity, and manage multiple competing priorities with a positive and team-first attitude. This candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and ensure proposed solutions align clients’ regional, functional and user experience needs with RFA’s global technology standards and commitment to quality customer service.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for coordination of the proposal writing process globally, including RFP responses and bid tenders as part of the wider design team.
    • Support document life cycle related to proposals, drafting of new and/or editing of existing requests.
    • Ensure that all proposals are of professional quality, including compliance with customer requirements, delivery expectations approved by Exec before release.
    • Supports the sales, implementation and operations teams through effective communication of proposal status, timelines, and resource availability.
    • Provide sales team support, including but not limited to documentation, diagrammatic representation of solution designs, and product demonstrations (on-site and remote).
    • Engage and assist with new client kick off meetings for project handover.
    • Participate in training of new products to ensure solution designs remain current and client specific.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Writing, or Business Administration
    • 1 to 3 years of experience in with proposal writing for a technology or professional services firm
    • Exposure to business analysis, requirements gathering, IT Project Management or technical resource management concepts
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
    • Experience in the preparation and editing of proposals
    • Self-starter, active listener; organized and able to multi-task efficiently
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc) and CRM software (Salesforce or a comparable alternative)
    • Strong attention to detail and diligence in follow-up
    • Able to analyze data and make sound observations and recommendations quickly
    • Act as the central point for proposal development process including communication of requirements, gathering raw proposal materials from service delivery team members, translating team member input into clear and effective responses

     

    Preferred but not required:

    • Experience with the ConnectWise product ecosystem, with particular emphasis on Manage and Sell (formerly Quosal)
    • Experience selling or demonstrating Microsoft Office365 suite
